Cat HELP!

Sep 16, 2010 17:54

So I have this blanket.  It's actually a fake version of those blanket-backwards-robe snuggie sleezie things.  It's all nice and fuzzy on the inside.  And last night I thought hey it's getting cold maybe the cat would like to sleep on it.  So I spread it next to me on the couch for him to get all comfy on.   It was good ( Read more... )

If your blanket starts getting morning sickness, I'd worry. ;-)

I doubt there's anything wrong, though. As long as he doesn't hurt himself (I've never had a male cat, so I'm not sure how the post-neutering goes for them - are there any wounds he might tear open?), it's probably some urge that will pass.

*snerk* I'll keep that in mind.

He doesn't have any sutures (at least the type that need removing) and you can barely see the incision area. As it's back towards the bum more I imagine it's not getting rubbed.

The things I never even thought of when I adopted a cat...

my (neutered) cat still jumps on females and bites their necks - he just has no clue what to do next

That seems to be the approach then. He bit its "neck" and rubbed on it for a bit and then rolled over and gave himself the stink eye. LOL

Yeah, it's normal for a neutered male cat. Or at least it is for one of mine! It's something about material with soft, dense pile (especially wool or fleece) that he can't resist... he's relieved one of my jackets, a bedside rug and several blankets of their virtue over the years. But he's easily snapped out of it, and he's always terribly embarrassed about it afterward. *g*

If it's a consolation, it only happens with him very rarely now, so it does seem to lessen with maturity.

Yes, the neutered boy kitties still get a little frisky. Okay, a lot.

There's a scent in that blanket that's making him hot. I know, cats are weird. (I won't mention the things the last neutered boy kitty I had did.)

Other than him driving you nuts, he's probably fine.

He was never frisky before the neuter! S'why I'm so boggled!

*puts hands over ears* Lalalalala!

I'm never owning a houseplant again am I? *eyes wreckage of plastic plant*

I haven't the slightest idea why male cats do that. They are just...strange.

Cats love houseplants. Unfortunately. They do that to get some greens (helps them with digestion). Outside cats chew on grass a lot. Some pet stores sell little grass growing kits for cats.

I've seen the "cat grass" thing before. I was afraid it would cause him to puke. The few times we've let him out (harnessed and leashed) he's started to much on the lawn.

Does grass = barfing!cat or is this something I should look into further?

*debates buying cactus...*

Neutered male cats like humping fleece blankets. Ours does. Ew. But there you are.

Good to know. It was startling because he's never exhibited any behavior like this before! And then to do it right post neutering was... odd. LOL

Also, you and kribu have VERY similar cat yawning icons!
