Say It Isn't So, Surak! Say It Isn't So!
I have been studying this universe for a full day since I arrived at starbase668 (known to the locals as "Milliways" for some obscure reason). The results are extremely fascinating.
First, there seems to be very little information about my namesake in this universe or the ship upon which he serves. Very odd; however, if very little is known about him, then it will be easier for me to impersonate him. Perhaps the Murgatroid in this universe is an elite special forces warship, or the flagship of the secret police?
This universe seems to have diverged from my own centuries in the past. I named my ship Surak's Razor after the weapon Surak used to cleanse Vulcan of the weak and worthless. In this universe, Surak was one of the "weak and worthless" -- and he converted almost the entire planet and race over to a nonviolent and logical philosophy that keeps them restrained to this day. Those of the warrior Vulcans who refused to submit escaped and became the Romulans -- in my true history, Romulus was a colony of Vulcan which later rebelled and became independent. In either case, it seems the Romulans are the only Vulcanoids with whom I'll feel any kinship in this universe. As for "Surak's Razor" -- in this universe, that term describes a logical theorem, not a weapon; the same applies to the Terran "Occam's Razor".
I have decided to take a break before I start delving into Terran history; since they seem to be the dominant species in this universe as well as my own, they are the next logical subject for study. But first, some food and drink.
