With One Breath, With One Flow ...

The break between attacks did not last long. Today, the ship was rocked by an explosion, and all but emergency power was lost. Since over 50% of the internal volume of the
USS Murgatroid is given over to holodecks and holo-emitters, those of us not in critical areas (including, but not limited to, the bridge and engineering) suddenly found ourselves in midair as the walls and furniture around us vanished; leaving only crewmembers and sundry personal items where the quarters, sickbay, and a variety of other rooms once were. Were it not for the fact that gravity was also lost, there would have no doubt been a number of serious injuries as people and equipment all dropped to the lower deck.
I saw no point in waiting to see what happened next, nor in trying to find out what caused the explosion. Pausing only to get my nausea under control (I did have zero-gravity training in the
Imperial Fleet Academy; but my pregnancy exacerbates the problem), which is more than some crewmembers were able to accomplish, I made my way to Engineering. In a situation like this, the first priority is always to restore power to shields, sensors, and weapons (generally in that order - protect against another attack, find out who performed the first attack, and then kill them). It appeared as though some of the crew in engineering were wounded, or were temporarily incapacitated by the lack of internal gravity, so I made my presence known to
Ifix and threw myself into assisting with repairs.
