A short summary of my fandom opinions

So since I've been a terrible LJ friend to the people I've been friends with, and want to avoid being a terrible friend to my new friends, I will actually post an entry and try to be friendly! Here is an introduction to the fannishness of evil_alter_ego, in easy-to-digest small bits. These are the things that I'm feeling at least vaguely fannish ( Read more... )

It's not that I don't like Quinto Spock, really, it's more that I didn't come out of the movie wishing Spock was real and a person I could date, like some of my RL friends did. :p I've never watched Heroes (except for the last 10 minutes every week when it was on before Studio 60), but it's on my list of things to try watching someday.

Excellent question regarding Potter. Come on, they're kids of the Twenty-first century! They can handle violence!

It could have all been off-screen, I didn't even need a description, I just wanted that to be the way Remus died, if he had to die. This has really been making me angry for years--as soon as Peter got his silver hand, I really truly believed that it was clever foreshadowing of how he would kill Remus...oh, the disappointment...

I'm trying to get into SPN for months, but I just somehow can't get past the third episode of first series...

Yeah, I'm with you about Nu!Spock. While he looks like Spock and suits the role...I just don't feel anything. Though I do love Spock prime.

Yeah, the new Star Wars movies are good, no matter what old butthurt fans say. The firs movie had Liam Neeson for Pete's sake.

As for Angel, I considered to stop watching it after Doyle died too, but I read some spoilers that said that Wesley will show up and I continued. Lucky me. It was awesome. I think it's better than Buffy. And Wesley was awesome.

Andromeda: I stopped watching somewhere after fourth series. It was starting to get unbearable. Because of Doyle. Pink blond girl, annoying to the bones.

Doctor Who: I'm still trying to get into it, but it's not such a hard work as with SPN. I loved Torchwood, so I just started watching the episodes with Christopher Eccleston, who is made of pure win and awesome.

Yeah, SPN takes a while before it really gets going--probably the first half of the first season is mostly just stand-alone episodes of varying quality. After that it starts to get some mytharcs going. I was able to get through the lame episodes mostly because I find Jensen Ackles to be sufficiently attractive. ;p

Yeah, I think Zachary Quinto is really pretty perfect as Spock, and I thought he was pretty hardcore awesome overall, but I don't have any fannish love for him somehow. Some of my friends who I saw the movie with came out of the theater sighing over him, and wishing he was real so they could date him, but I'm happy to think he was awesome in the movie and leave it at that.

Christopher Eccleston! I'd only ever seen him in creepy roles before Doctor Who, but he totally won me over right away. The first season of new Who is wonderful...I need to find my copies of the episodes and rewatch sometime.

To be honest Jensen Ackles (and Jeffrey Dean Morgan) are the only reasons I've started watching Supernatural...yeah I'm shallow D;

They would want to date a vulcan? Good luck to them :D I don't understand how someone as BAMF as Uhura is able to stand it...

Oh yeah, but I love people in creepy roles. James Spader, Kurt Russell, John Malkowich. I remember when Christopher Eccleston appeared in Heroes. I was all: "squee!!!". I can't wait till they show the new G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra here. He's in there and the girl who played Gaila, Rachel Nichols, too.
