Probably no reason for it,

Al-hafla was a big event. People made a special effort to attend.

Now, it seems to have lost luster. I feel I oversold the event to the folks that were so happy to put it on, mostly because of low response at this point.

Did I make another mistake?

I hope not.. But I can say that wheeling WV is an expensive place to stay. We're planning on being there but it would be nice if we could have found a nice but less expensive place.

Did you look at any of the hotels given on the web site?

Dur,

Take a deep breath and relax. from the events that I have autocratted, most people don't make up their mind on whether or not they are going until about a week before.

The event will be successful, I'm quite sure!!

I've done this event before, but it has been a long time since it was near me and I was helping it go.

There's usually a buzz by now.

How's the baby?

Last year, when I did it, I found a lot of folks responding at the last minute; I also had a contingent of ladies who came from the local Philadelphia and New Jersey bellydance scenes, also at practically the last minute. And then there was some lovely boy from Kerala, India, who also came at the last minute.

I wish I could be there at al-Hafla this year, but the driving and expense are too much to bear by myself. None of those things are your fault, though, and I think enough people will come at the last minute to make the event successful. Heck, I had merchants wanting to come at the last minute too. Don't go by reservations at this point, really; more than half of the people who came to al-Hafla last year showed up at the door the day of the event.

At least two ladies from our Barony will be joining you at Al hafla. Don't dispair!
