Inspired by nagaqueen's ISO post...Guy Fawkes [Arcana] review...

with a question attached. First off:

nagaqueen's ISO post got me hyped up =O Someone sent me a scrub scented as Guy Fawkes, which I fell madly in love with. It reminded me that I have half an imp just laying in my imp box that I should try...

But when it goes on, it's not nearly as lovely =( So the question is: Did Guy Fawkes come as a scrub (like Mme. Lapin does), or did this lovely make it?  Answered, thank you!

Okay, so my story out of the way, PRODUCT REVIEW (I am so slow when it comes to these...everyone probably knows already ^^;)

Here's the official description:
Revisit the Gunpowder Plot with this intense mix of smoky bonfire revels, dry apple cider, aged vetiver, black coffee and cold, damp November earth. A penny for the guy!

To begin with, the description is right on the dot. It's beautiful that I can detect every note individually, and yet they blend together seamlessly...is that possible? This scent invokes colors and pictures in my mind:

Warm scent 'cloud' around the test site; really the scent of a [storybook] fire in the woods. It's like they threw the apples onto the fire, in fact [minus the burning smell], so the spices rose up into a thick fog. Leaving my hand at my waist, I can feel the heaviness that the vetiver and earth bring; definitly NOT a light scent. The coffee was burnt on the fire =( but luckily it stays pretty close to the skin; the acrid-ity is only minor if you keep your limb away.

I don't think I'd wear this scent in the summer unless I was by the water with a strong breeze; let me tell you, this oil has monster throw. While the humidity and heat of Houston may have influence on this, this is still some SERIOUS sniffage; the strongest I've smelt from my small history of perfume oil e-tailers. With two dots from a vial tip, I'm choking on roasting apples and burnt coffee, and feeling weighed down by the earth; really, I could be buried in a grave of this, and I'd be less assaulted. Once it dries [15 minutes], it mellows to cider and vetiver.

In the vial is smells gorgeous, so perhaps I shall simply sniff it when I need to be taken back to another world--one where there is autumn and not just hot wet / hot dry.
