I was so not ready for it-- Order placed June 1st, and I got my Alabaster Sphinx, Gold of Egypt: Shen, Cherry Pomegranate, and Haroeris today. I'm just so amazed that I had to post about the amazing turn-around time. ^^ And reviews:
This shall turn into a review post as soon as I've rested from standing outside for...*checks watch* five hours. Cruel Houston weather. I feel like (I'd imagine..never tried it) I haven't showered for a month...after treking through the rainforest.
Hathor's Cherry Pomegrante Tea- Cassis, Pomegranate, White Tea, Cherry, Iris and Hathor's Summer-time Blessing.
First off: Rarr at the reducer caps.
Evil. Makes it hard to use my plastic wand to put it on.
Second: I love the labels. They're lovely and shiny.
Opening the bottle: ZOMG CHERRY! I mean, my nose didn't even have to be next to the cap. >_< I'm kinda worried...it's not the 'real' cherry scent. I'm getting that fake cherry-candy sort of smell.
I shall apprehensively apply it...
Wet: Hmm..well, my worry is dminishing as the violent cherry mellows...rather like dropping a those cherry candies into water. The rich tang of pomegranate is lingering between the background and the forefront, not sure where it wants to be. *trying to coax forward* The throw from my wrist is approximately four inches, so if this works out, I'd have to find somewhere closer to my nose so I can enjoy it
As it dries, the scent of CHERRY CANDY is vanishing...along with the throw. Throw has been reduced to two inches..four minutes later. On the plus side, there is a lovely spice coming to the front.
Six minutes and my nose must be nearly ON my wrist to smell anything. On the plus side, the cherry is gone and replaced by a sweet, fruity spice (that is still not pomegrante).
*Sad* Must continue my quest for an e-tailer whose pomegranate works on me..or LASTS.
ETA: Washed spot, and sweet pomegranate came out, though more 'berry' smell than pomegranate.
Haroeris: Egyptian Red Musk, Egyptian Blood Musk, Persimmon, Nutmeg, Bergamot, Champaca (which I discovered was white sandalwood), Liquid Amber, Mandarin and three smoke filled Mahogony Woods.
In the bottle: Masculine, musky...Not heavy, yet there's a deep root.
Wet: I think that deep presence in the background is the mixture of the musk and the wood. The amber makes this very warm (my wrist actually feels warmer?), and there's a grainy-ness you can sometimes get from biting into a persimmon (but not the actual smell). Throw is...better than the CP Tea. Wet it's still about four inches, but it actually carries about two feet with a barely perceptible cloud.
As it dries...spicyness is coming out, but it reminds me vaguely of soap. Not a powdery soap, but good, quality soap.
Hmm...I rather like it, though it would be nice if there was more throw. I think I shall decant a bit to try in my hair before giving up on it.
ETA: Washed the spot thoroughly, sweet musk still there.
Gold of Egypt: Shen- Juniper Berry, Geranium, Moss, Sandalwood, Egyptian Nag Champa Perfume from Cairo and the sweetness of warm Egyptian simmering sugar.
Bottle: Sweet bg with what I'm assuming to be the champa again, as it's none of the others.
Wet: Sweet sugar! Berry sweet, strangely sugared (not bad, just not raw sugar). Didn't get gold on my wand-- oh, wait, I got a few dots of shimmer.
Moss is at the very, very bottom to give a touch of earth, but more than anything it's that overhelming sugar. For me, it's quite parallel to BPAL's Midwinter's Eve, but with a powdery-floral aftertaste if you sniff closely.
20 minutes and it's still wet ._. Throw is still...approx. one foot. I'm actually glad it's not further, unfortunately.
30 minutes and it's still wet, no amazing morph of smell. >_> Taking this off. It's aesthetically beautiful in its green bottle and gold glitter inside, but the smell is just too...strange for me.
Alabaster Sphinx- Cacao, Narcissus, Brown Sugar, Amber, Lime EO, Caramel, Egyptian Black Coffee, Black Orchid, Pomegranate, Magnolia, Apricot and the Light of Egypt upon this great Sphinx.
In the bottles: Brown sugar, coffee, and just a touch of cacao *purr*
On skin: ...not so purr ~_~ Lime makes it it smell like pee on top of a strange mix of caramel and coffee. Throw is at wrist (aka zero) Approximately an inch from the wrist, I get a warm, tingly feeling like medicated chapstick, but in my nose and not on my lips.
