Ooh I just loved that Inez was protective of Buck when they were ribbing him and gave him a big ol' plate o' hot food!
I really enjoyed the little peeks at the other six and that Nathan and Chris were sitting with Buck.
But most of all, I know you are going to understand that my favorite part was this:
“Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth, right?” Buck agreed as Chris followed him out into the still falling rain, the warm touch of a steady hand on his back.
How the heck did I miss this story? If a little bird hadn't told me, I would have never found it! I'm SO freaking glad to see Buck getting a little love and concern from his friends for a change. I know he's big-hearted and a mother hen but he gets hurt, too, and needs that love, brotherly and otherwise, to let him know he's loved and cherished just as much as all the others. Thanks for posting this EJ! And I'm thrilled you're working on your bingo card!

I like this look at a tired Buck and how concerned and caring everyone is. Giving the Big Dog a bit of comfort and care.
And I love the hint of something good going to happen, something involving the warm touch of a steady hand. ;)
Sweet as.
