Our Tax Dollars Hard at Work!

Okay! So here's the skinny... When we deploy to augment the 9th out of Hurbie, we're required to take the AFSOC rotator both to & from the Deid, which is specifically paid for once a month for all AFSOC personel, and to justify the purchase of this very large commercial airline, they need to fill it.  So those of us coming from kadena, are required ( Read more... )

You could always drive from FL to see us in GA. It's only mostly out of your way, and you probably aren't given the time to even do it, but we would love to see you.

Very Tempting... evil_qt March 30 2009, 14:56:28 UTC
Thanks for the invite, & Trust me when I say I would rather be there with you guys then stuck w/ the 6 of my 8 crew members for yet another evening, although after about 18-hrs in coach class, I'd probably end up in a ditch half way there. Not to mention, my back will probably need the rest from sitting all day. The funny part though, is that I'll have to transverse ATL the very next day, since that's pretty much the only location we can fly from Fort Walton Beach... I promise to wave on my way out!

It was a long shot, but I had to try. If you had an extended layover in ATL I would send the girls up there to visit. Phoenix is so cute she'll make you want to puke.

Be safe,

Itinerary in Hand! I'm Going HOME! evil_qt March 31 2009, 17:15:59 UTC
So after 5-days of uncertainty, I finally know that I'm 1) going home & 2) how that will be happening. Because of how our AC went about trying to secure travel home, noone was able to request specific ways of travel, which normally we get to do b/c of how long it takes, and how far we're going. We're technically allowed to take 2 full days to get home b/c we'll be going overseas, but instead it now looks like I'll be taking a rotator home, and landing at 2230 (that's of course if it's on-time w/o any hiccups, & not including how long it will take to unload the plane, disassemble all the pallets & inprocess the base)... So my itinerary has me leaving the very next morning @ 0630... Yes that's exactly 8-hrs after our scheduled land time... From there I'll have 1+20 layover in ATL, with a straightshot 14+15 hr flight to Tokyo, where I'll be sitting for another 4+20 layover and then direct Naha... where hopefully, my hubby will be waiting to pick me up & drive me the last hour home... Let's see show @ 05z, t/o 9z w/ 10hrs in the air, & a ( ... )
