Oh, he also hit his head?!

No, I didn't. I also didn't get replaced by a shapeshifter from a parallel universe nor did I get compelled by one of the Salvatore brothers to do it. The simple reason I'm suddenly talking about music is that 2010 is the first year in a while that I felt like I had listened to enough albums to be able to make a presentable list. So here we go:

My Top Albums 2010:

10. Miniature Tigers - Fortress

While I like their catchier debut better, this is probably a more 'mature' album and still pretty enjoyable.
Try this song: "Egyptian Robe"

9. Marina & the Diamonds - The Family Jewels

Fresh artist making fresh pop. Great voice.
Try this song: "Hollywood"

8. Gold Motel - Summer House

Some fine summer pop songs from former The Hush Sound Greta Morgan's new project.
Try this song: "Summer House"

7. Arcade Fire - The Suburbs

The obvious choice? Not for me, who considered them overrated before. Their third album is probably more easily accessible, which -imo- was what their music needed.
Try this song: "Sprawl II (Mountains beyond Mountains)"

6. Broken Bells - Broken Bells

Maybe I expected even more from this Danger Mouse/James Mercer co-production but it's still a great album.
Try this song: "Mongrel Heart"

5. She & Him - Volume Two

Zoooey!! I like it better than their debut, mainly because the songs are more up-tempo.
Try this song: NRBQ-Cover "Ridin' in my car"

4. Blood Red Shoes - Fire like This

Sophomore album from this young British band, which is just as energetic and addictive as their debut.
Try this song: "Don't ask"

3. Surfer Blood - Astro Coast

New band from Florida making 90's retro pop-rock that might not be exactly innovative but still feels fresh and ambitious.
Try this song: "Floating Vibes"

2. The Like - Release Me

I liked their debut back in 2005 but this is like a completely different band making completely different music. 60's girl-group pop with truly addictive songs.
Try this song: "He's not a boy"

1. The Morning Benders - Big Echo

Another sophomore album and in this case, a giant step from an already pretty good debut. Took me a while to get into but now I can't stop listening to it.
Try this song: "Excuses"
