The Shipper

Since I usually don't 'ship', I didn't know that it is kind of exhausting. Browsing each episode for some meaningful glances between your characters. Trying to stay away from spoilers while desperately wanting to find out what's in store for them. Squeeing like a 10-year-old girl when an otherwise rather mediocre season-finale ends with a kiss ( Read more... )

Jeff and Britta are horrible as a romantic couple, but they have great friendship chemistry.

The age difference doesn't bug me at all. I guess that's because I'm European :D

The ratings are bad, yeah, but NBC really wants a third comedy hour on Thursday so the chances for renewal are actually better than Fringe's. Even way better if Perfect Couples flops.

I'm so hoping you're right! Not so sure if the 10 pm comedy hour will work though.

Bad reviews, low-rated lead-in, strong competition - I'd be very surprised if Perfect Couples doesn't flop.

Even if it was fantastic, Perfect Couples just doesn't fit into the Thursday slot. It's a family/relationship comedy. Every other show in that block - The Office, 30 Rock, Parks & Rec, Outsourced - is a workplace comedy, and arguably Community fits that description as well. So I don't get why NBC always tries to put relationship sitcoms into the Thursday slots, haven't they learned anything from 100 Questions last Summer?

I don't care about the age different either. Honestly, none of those two is exactly a grown-up.

I am also not sure if Britta/Jeff is actually the main couple. Yes, they do hook-up, but it never really seems to work out because I never see any feeling behind it. If you compare that to Annie/Jeff...they are a lot more what I would say is a "romantic" couple what with the looks and the long kisses here and there.
In my opinion the producers know that Annie/Jeff works better, but they are not yet going there because of that age difference.
