Different time zone?

This morning I am left wondering if I live in a different time zone. I was woken by a call at 815am from someone who used to live in the street who said her son had told her about nan in a call he made to her at 830 this morning (yes she is in this state). I then got a call from a work place as soon as I had hung up ( Read more... )

Those are the exact rules I was brought up with for phone calls. Also try and avoid the lunch hour!

Been better, keeping busy! There is lots to do most of which involves cleaning:(

I wanted to kill my brother when he called me at 11:55pm and then again at 6:45am the next morning. Rude!

I think the rules you describe are best. However I had somehow once got to thinking that 10pm was okay and been told off for it. Elderly Australian Democrats who I was inviting to a branch function soon corrected the error of my ways with that "polite yet fuming" manner that makes you think twice.

I can understand people calling around 8:30, because if 9 is the average persons start time for work, 8:30 is the best way of catching them before they leave.

The problem with the "after 9am, before 9pm, but not between 6 and 8" is that this leaves you with basically 8pm-9pm as the only time to call (as before 6 they are on the way home from work, and from 9-5 they are at work).

And trying to nut out the etiquette rules of this kind of thing is why I email people :P
