Previous story:
November Showers Robert was having a hard time focusing on his lines. He kept wanting to watch the clock as it crept closer and closer to five o’clock. He wished he could leave early, but as it was, he was already leaving four hours sooner than the rest of the regular cast. He had gotten a text a few hours ago - Alan telling him that the flight had landed and he was en route to Robert's apartment. Robert had wanted to pick him up, but he couldn't reschedule, and Alan told him not to worry about it. He had a key and remembered how to get there.
His final scene took him past five and he couldn't hide his grin when the director said they had finally nailed the shot. He caught Hugh's eye as he was leaving, giving him a small wave and a thumbs up as he put on his coat.
When he arrived home, he quietly let himself in. A few lights were on, but he didn't see his boyfriend. He toed off his shoes and removed his coat, then started to seek him out. He peered into the bedroom and found him sprawled out on his stomach in the middle of the bed, book fanned out beside him. Robert stood still and watched him for a few minutes, scarcely able to believe that the moment had finally arrived, that there was a living, breathing Alan on his bed.
Alan was probably exhausted after his flight. It looked like he had taken a shower, settled in to wait for Robert to get home, then fell asleep. Robert smiled and went to his closet, pulling out a blanket. He draped it over Alan and leaned down to press lips to cheek, smelling soap and Alan's distinguishable scent that reminded him of England. He backed away, planning to make dinner for when Alan woke.
"Not going to molest me in me sleep?" Alan's sleepy voice asked.
Robert returned to the bedside. "Hey, you."
Alan pulled back the blanket in an invitation.
Robert smiled and hesitated only briefly before joining him, setting his glasses on the nightstand and letting Alan cover them both up.
"Hey, you," Alan responded.
Robert scooted up close against the warm body, letting an arm wrap around his waist and a kiss to be planted against his throat. He closed his eyes and smiled, leaning into the small touches.
They laid wrapped together like that for a while, breath uniting as they readjusted to the comfort of each other. Robert rested his head against Alan's shoulder, not needing words to express his feelings. He showed it in his warm arms that were wrapped possessively around Alan's middle, in his lips that rested against Alan's chin, and in his toes that were tingling from where they brushed Alan's feet.
Alan felt Robert's body relaxing into sleep. The increased pressure against him was welcome, and had been sorely missed. He quietly moaned and gave into the sleep that was tapping on his door. His body was still exhausted from the flight and adjusting to the time change. It did not take much to convince Alan that sleep was a good idea. The slight grumbling of his stomach went ignored in favor of the warm heat surrounding him.

Sometime later, Robert cracked open an eye and tried to focus on the numbers on the clock. He reached out of the warm cocoon and groped for his glasses, sliding them on. He sighed when he saw that it was past 11pm. This was not the reunion that he had expected. He put his glasses back on the night table and turned his body around to face Alan and he traced Alan's face in the moonlight. Lips curled up into a smile under his thumb as they brushed across Alan's mouth.
"Morning, love."
"It's only 11 at night."
"Morning in London." Alan yawned and finally opened his eyes, squinting past Robert to double check on the time. "Looks like we have the whole night ahead of us."
Robert laughed and leaned forward to give Alan a welcome back kiss. What started as a brushing of lips quickly turned into a duel of tongues that left them both breathless. Alan stretched his body out, arching his back and curling his toes. His arm came up to hold Robert close to him and Robert melted into his embrace before pulling away. "As much as I would love to continue this," he began, softly clearing his throat, "I need to get something to eat. I got a little, uh, sidetracked on my way to dinner."
"We'll need our strength, won't we?"
Alan's grin was hidden shadow, but Robert could see the twinkle in his eyes.
