At the beginning of this week, I wondered what the hell I was doing here in India. On Monday morning, we had an empty room, four volunteers, a box of samosas and a couple of crates of books. Sounds like an experience that will stay with you for a long time. Do you think it's somewhere you could live and work?

Sounds like it's really good. Corporal punishment can have it's place. However it gets over used as the only method of disciplining people at times, which is why I think it doesn't work. It should be the absolute last resort.

My mum has helped with the building of a school in Nepal. If your kids there are anything like the ones that she met I'd bet that this is an amazingly rewarding experience. They brought out footballs and games for the children but thought they wouldn't be able to give them to the children as their school holidays had started. However all the children turned up for school anyway as they thought it was the best thing ever.

Wow, sounds amazing, and you know, I can see it being the sort of thing you'd be good at.

Incidentally, if dead baseballers start turning up in India, you have big problems.
