I was really feeling the music around 4am. The jams were eight years old, and had not been heard since except by this employee of the gas station/Buddy's restaraunt. I asked her to please turn it up- I'd been infused w/ glee- perhaps it came from all the reststop food, or perhaps from the sense that I'd just dodged a bullet. I was dancing, ( Read more... )

How is your antler injury today? anonymous November 9 2003, 20:48:53 UTC
You are right about our nearly 3hours spent in the drafty gas station. It was fun, not dancing fun, but fun none the less. In a terrible and cold situation like that I couldn't have asked for better company. I would be stranded with you any day, even though you don't know how to spell my name correctly.

love,
Meredith

Dear Bill,

I am very grateful you and your friends are ok(Sorry for the deer though.)It really is amazing that you are all in good health. With six people in a car traveling highway speeds...wow. Could have been really really bad. Luck it was late...after drinkers...empty highways..mostly except maybe Lauren and Rosie.

How fast were you going when you hit the deer?
Did your airbags go off?
Were people wearing seatbelts?
Are people sore today?

I am glad you have such great friends and that the evening-early morning wasn't filled with suffering.

Much love,
Mellissa

no
yes/no
no

now that u mention it, I'm a little surprised that the airbags didn't burst. Though, generally the impact was milder than I'd expect

Ooh jeez, Bill! anonymous November 10 2003, 20:58:43 UTC

I'm so glad to hear nobody was hurt!
Once Jeremy Meewha, Dave Gillis, and I (e) hit a deer after a Phish show in downtown East Lansing. We were on acid but on all accounts the deer jumped up on the hood and slid off, completing three revolutions before it jumped off a bridge. My hood (BITCHIN' CAMARO haha) was a little muddy.
We seem to be forever bonded through this moment.
Just thought I'd share.

There probably was no dear.
However, my dear, by some accounts, was on fire before we it hit, thus causing my vehicle to catch as well.

Well, my dear, I know there was a deer and I know that we hit it. So, dearie, your dear deer was on fire? I mean, you actually hit a flaming deer? Shouldn't you have seen it coming? How does a deer catch fire?

Tell me you see the lesson here.
