Yesterday I was driving the 271 From Issaquah to the Univ District. Just outside Issaquah a grey haired slender woman in her 50s got on and sat on the seat just next to the door. As I'm driving admiring the rain and watching my mirrors and traffic etc, the following conversation ensued

It always amazes me how many people place some hardcore epistemic weight on something so subjective and call it truth. How many people ever bother to really think about it? Not many I bet...(which, of course, is why I will ultimately remain single for such radical views as mine).
*sigh* What a trip....both on the bus and with people in general.

I think you handled the situation brilliantly.
Oh and a PS - The girl who complained to Metro customer service about her driver? Well now he's asking her to take out her pass each time she rides his bus - so he can properly see her pass denomination. She asked him what was up, and he restated about how he needed to see her pass denomination properly. He also added that he did get spoken to about her complaint, AND she was free to complain again if she chose to.
Blarg.
I think they might both be stubborn people butting heads...But you never know.
