PAX

A lot of stuff happened at the three days of PAX, but I won't go into detail about all of it. Because I'm lazy.

The first day, I saw an interesting panel and a boring panel. I looked around at some games that I was interested in, but didn't spend a lot of time in any one place. The highlight of the day was the concert, where I saw Anamanaguchi (who were OK), Metroid Metal (who were fantastic), and MC Frontalot (whose babies I'll someday have). I was up ridiculously late because of it, and forgot that the buses stop running after 1am, so I had to take a taxi home.

The next day, I had a migraine! I slept in super late, and got to PAX in time to see a presentation of Elemental: War of Magic. That was by far the best part of that day. I found out the beta testing will start in two weeks, and since I guaranteed my spot by pre-ordering the game in November of last year, I am so fucking excited. It just looks fantastic (though the beta won't look as great at first). I wandered around a bit, said hello to MC Frontalot, bought a Metroid Metal album, and then went home to have dinner because the migraine was still there. I ended up not feeling well enough to go to that night's concert.

Which was OK, because it meant I got up early on Sunday. On my way to PAX, I met this guy named Kerrie (he complimented my frog umbrella and then we got to talking). It was the first time I had actually really talked to anyone, since I'd been doing the con thing by myself. We agreed to hang out for a bit. Mostly he kept me company while I stood in line to try Scribblenauts, and then watched me play the game. Scribblenauts was so freaking fun. My mom said she wanted to give me her DS because she didn't like it anymore, and if she does when I go visit her in a couple of days, I'm definitely getting Scribblenauts when it comes out.

Kerrie had a panel he wanted to go to, and John ended up getting a pass for that day (yay!) so we parted ways and I spent the rest of the day with John. We went back to the Elemental booth, and I asked one of the guys there to show John some of the stuff I'd seen the day before. The guy seemed desperate to get away, so he left us to play around with the game by ourselves (which they were not letting me do before). John blew up a lot of things with volcanoes. John showed me the new power customization in CoH, which makes me want to play the game again when it's released. We played a couple other games, but we spend most of our time there collecting free shirts and other things. I think they were desperate to get rid of stuff on the last day. Also, John took my picture with lots of people in costume. Mostly hot chicks:

Basically, it was good times. Here's all the photos and video I took (well, John took some): http://www.flickr.com/photos/corynn/sets/72157622136288085/
