And it's probably a combination of both.. good fanfics inspire more writing, and when old hobbies rear their heads, they take precedence again until you weary of it. (For good fics.. have you tried Rosefire's latest "Zero G" yet? It's rivalling "Dead Famous" right now for my favorite of her works)
Just remember, writing is done to please *yourself*, not your readers or anyone else. If it's not fun, stop and take a breather. Don't pay any attention to the jerks rudely demanding updates. As you've told me yourself, the true fans will wait.
Just as long as you keep posting in your LJ every once in a while to let us know you're alive, I'll be happy. :D

Yea, I've read Rosefire's Zero G. It's good but I think I need something with major fluff to get motivated.
