Also, Sauron wore it over his finger armor! They could have just depicted him without finger armor, but I guess they felt it was important to show that Anduril could cut through finger armor.

Now I want to work in the Special Collections section of a Soviet-era library.

"Papers, please."
"But I just want to see..."
"Papers, please."
"Um, here's my student ID and my class assignment."
"Your papers are not in order."
"But I really need to..."
[Special Collection Librarian stink-eye*]
"Ok, I'll just go now."

*- Personal experience so far shows that Spec Coll librarians have the top stink-eye in the business. Just try mishandling a 14th century manuscript.

Also, as a Soviet librarian I could take bribes for standard services!

huh. perhaps sauron and frodo wear the ring on their index fingers so that it's easier to film it being cut/bitten off. :)

it makes the act of putting the ring on more visually dramatic, too.

I pointed out to Dave that Aragorn also wears his ring on the index finger. Strange practice.

It's good that you've been a 'clean living' sort of guy, but you should still be careful what you archive. You never know what in your past can cast a shadow over you're future in politics.

Of course, there are those who don't much care for the short, especially not year after year. I don't much care. I can see the humor in it, but I can also see the point of view of those who dislike mocking it now because that mocks the serious concerns of Americans of the time. At any rate, I welcome the fact that it leaves room on the schedule for more weird and wonderful shorts at B-Fest.

I can see your point. The humor value isn't very high after the first couple of viewings. I like the crowd-participation aspect of it more than anything else about it.

Look at it this way: we probably won't see What is Communism?, which at least a couple of people like, but we probably *will* see Gavotte. And if there's anybody who is in support of *that*...
