Oooh, one other thing about my trip to Florida: 20 hours travelling over one weekend means lots of reading time. I finished *both* Signal to Noise and Broken Angels.

Signal to Noise by Nylund? I didn't like it much at all. Some of the details were cool (as you said), but the rest of it was just ... hey, flat. I guess I just agree with you. :)

I'm still working on Quicksilver, but I got Nick into it, and he's been hiding the book from me. :) Haven't picked up The Confusion yet. Maybe before our Florida trip...
