Was "Let's Go Crazy" a suggestion?

I finally watched the copy of Purple Rain that I got from Netflix.

Highly recommended. Thoughts:
  • Morris Day was Awesome as the bad guy. I always liked the whole "lead singer has a butler" gimmick. Did The Time and Prince actually feud in real life? I mean, they are practically the same band, with less sex and frills.

I think that every time I've gone to see a show at First Avenue in Minneapolis (the club herein), someone introduces the band as "Please welcome. The Time." It's like that gag never grows old or something. I've also wondered if there was an actual war between The Time and Prince, or if it's just an act, like in pro-wrestling.

The new vice-president of my college's father is the drummer for the Time. Maybe I can ask her!

Awesome. If I'm ever in Minneapolis again, I've got to check that out. What do they have there, still R&B-type stuff?

In other news, my searching for info on a possible feud between Prince and The Time has been fruitless. I did, however, find this:
