Man, it's difficult waiting for work to end, especially when you have to stick around for no good reason. Hrm. Let's just post disjointed thoughts to LJ!

Finally managed to get on my bike yesterday. Since my rides so far have all been about 25 miles, I figured a 40-mile ride would be a good way to see how I'm doing. Around the 20-mile mark I felt great! Around the 30-mile mark, I felt like things were getting tough. Somewhere around 32 miles, I wanted to die. So, yeah. I am humbled. And have much work to do.

My tablet PC has not shown up on the order tracking page. However, the order tracking lady says it'll ship on Thursday. Rock. I guess I'll have it Monday!

I don't know what was going on with me last week... I sense much anger in... uh... me. Yeah. Anyway, anger. I wish I could find some way to vent or resolve things or something, but it seems that physical exertion alone isn't helping too much.

Man, did they drop the ball with Terminator 3. T:2 was an excellent action movie. Maybe Arnold and the kid weren't all that terrific, but Linda Hamilton was awesome in the beginning, and the T-1000 was one of the coolest bad guys ever. You get that feeling that the writers put a lot of effort into thinking, "Hmmm, what would a villian made of liquid be able to do?" It's the same feeling I got from Altered Carbon. Creativity-wise, anyway.

A friend of mine commented the other day that weblogs should be entertaining and not just concerned with trivial occurrences in everyday life. This got me to thinking about this theme that runs through my head every once in a while... isn't it trivial occurrences that make up life? In TV and movies all you see is the interesting stuff, but nobody's life is like that. Even on days that are all about interesting stuff, you're going to probably spend a majority of the time wrapped up in trivialities anyway. So you're having some life-changing event this afternoon? Fine, well, you're still going to wake up and shower and brush your hair and eat breakfast and drive there and look for a parking place and eat lunch and check your email and drive home and watch some TV and read a little before you go to bed. Granted, they're probably not very entertaining, but I think the little trivialities have their place, too.

Google IPO: yes or no? It's cool that it's open to individual investors, but I'm still thinking no. The auction's going to drive the price way up, and there's not going to be the opportunity to make a quick buck off of it. Maybe after a couple weeks...

I installed VS at home so I can work on some projects... I'm thinking a managed code LJ client wrapper would be cool. Also, I need some sort of utility to automate posting/commenting on pictures I take. It's a four step process or so right now, and that's just too much of a pain.

Hey, looks like I wasted enough time to go to hockey now! Awesome!
