April 1st 'til not has been a nail biting, stressful peroid for me. I've been checking my email almost every hour waiting for a response from Turner, and now with only two days before the May 4th deadline I have all but given up hope on hearing back from them. My 2 cents, if you have the means and desire to get out of Michigan, get out now. There is nothing worth staying here for in our field.

I haven't been waiting as long, but I too am in the process of hoping a company will hire me. My 'advice' such as it is, is to bite the bullet for now and get a decent job doing something that you don't totally hate. I can't imagine you losing your fire for doing what you love, even if you have to slog through a graphic design job to get there.

I'm going to be blunt here; the chances of getting right into a dream job right out of college is nearly impossible for anyone. You happened to choose a field that is particularly tough to get into, which doesn't improve your hopes. BUT, you're still young, you have time yet to get into animation. Your priority now should be getting out on your own somewhere and being financially secure(ish).

These are merely my thoughts and my plans, but I think they might apply. I wish you luck.
