Paneer is amazing! Actually I think it's more closely related to haloumi cheese (only less salty) than cottage, as it retains its shape when cooking rather than melting.
If you ever get the chance, try Tandoori Paneer. A million times better than Palak Paneer :D
I have honestly no clue what is haloumi cheese. :O Actually, I live in India, where we call paneer, well, paneer, so I never really bothered to look it up. :/
Also, I've had Tandoori paneer, but the chicken version is SO MUCH BETTER I can't help but not compare. And it was a close call between Shahi paneer, Palak paneer and Tandoori :D
