Stop stealing my cooking oils/vinegar! I bet you don't have "platinum soy bean sauce," though. (I also have mirin tucked away behind all the other Asian sauces, and that stuff is magic.)
Yeah... I thought that iodized sea salt was funny, that's kind of how I ended up with it. (-;
It makes my kitchen feel like it suddenly got serious about things. It's kind of a weird contrast to the beat-up rental apartment cabinets and appliances I have, but whatever, it looks cool. ^_^
I do not have "platinum soybean sauce"! When I google it, all I come up with is San-J Organic Tamari with a silver label. I do buy San-J tamari... (Just not the kind with the silver label!)
I've been meaning to aquire some mirin ever since I saw Alton Brown cook with it. (We both agree that he should be worshipped as a god, y/y?) Must get on that!
I always find it funny that iodine was so severely lacking in American diets, it became necessary to iodize salt. It's just...weird. :P
Your kitchen looks totally cool, and I'm completely willing to believe your kitchen could kick my kitchen's ass: it's so sleek and professional-looking! (And I am severely lacking in counter space.)
I can't find it online either for some reason. But I do know it's from this company. I got it in Chinatown after complaining to one of my friends that I didn't actually know what I was looking for in a soy sauce. It's aged, so it's a little sweeter and... fermented, I guess? in taste. I prefer soy sauces it be a little sharper, but it's good. I've never tried tamari sauce. In fact, I just figured out what it was earlier today when I saw it mentioned on a gluten-free menu
