All right... it's been a while since I've gotten my rant/analysis/squee on about Doctor Who (since June, in fact... where have I even been?)
Let's start with this week's episode. I... was a little underwhelmed. Then again, I came into it expecting House of Leaves and that's just really hard to do. It skirted around a lot of the deeper issues I wish it had explored, especially given its absurdly broad definition of what deep faith is. (Because if it's meant to be faith at all that the Minotaur is supposed to be consuming, Rory's in a pretty awkward and generally inhuman position. My personal crack theory is that, since the people who have their faith consumed die, and Rory is faithless, he must therefore also be dead. It also neatly explains his random use of past tense that the Doctor called him on. (Unless that was explained and I just missed it?))
And speaking of random weird things: what's with the Doctor eating an apple? Didn't he hate apples? What was with the mole guy and the fish? Is it me, or was the Doctor's gift of the house and car clearly more for Rory than Amy? Does anyone else get the feeling (especially with the random gratuitous shots of shoes) that this wasn't actually our Doctor?
Also, I finished my Homestuck re-read today and I totally need to ramble at someone about things I totally missed the first time around.
