pet peeve #372

One of my many pet peeves is when people talk to me about people or situations with the assumption I know everything about what they are saying. For example, the person will come up to me and say "I went to Bobby's birthday party last night and Sally told me that Bertha's sister had a baby!". I don't know who the hell Bobby, Sally, Bertha or ( Read more... )

HA! I do the same thing! (the "oh that's nice" not the flapping arms bit.)

People are lame. It's just another bit of "memememememeeee, listen to my story, tell everyone you heard it from me, listen to me talk don't I have a lovely voice?" instead of actually thinking before one speaks.

Oh, and slapping them or putting a knife in their eye also shuts them up.

That reminded me of my first class my first day of college, Honors social studies- The teacher started with "based on you previous knowledge of the ottoman empire..." I was 17 and very much in a "oh no" state of mind.

any class that begins with "based on your prior knowledge of (fill in the blank)" is usually a bad sign...at least for me...I have no knowledge retention whatsoever.

Ugh. My mother does this to me, with the entire cast of characters she works with. Why can't people just say "I'll spare you the details, but basically, this woman I work with was a bitch to me about some crap you don't care about."

I know, that is the worst. Its just exhausting to have to hear about a buttload of people you don't know, nor care about. This is usually why I refrain from talking about alot of stuff because I just don't have the energy to give the background info. Apparently most people feel the same way, so they skip the background info but still feel the need to share about Billy's hernia operation.

By the way, what's up? When are we Wii-ing again?

I know...its totally bizarre, and extremely annoying being as one of the main offenders is someone I see on a semi-daily basis.
