Thursday, October 11 - 1408This was my first time seeing this, and being as it was based on a Stephen King story I knew it had the potential to either be awesome or really stink. I have a love/hate relationship with King story-movies. Luckily this one fell on the "love" end of the scale...well, I wouldn't say I loved it, but it was super-creepy ( Read more... )

In a serendipitous occurrence (big words I busted out from essay writing as well...heh heh), I also watched 1408 yesterday! (Thanks Netflix!)
I've gotta say, I went in not expecting much, but hoping for a few chills, and I must say, the movie delivered.
It certainly wasn't a great movie per se, not one that I'll end up owning, but it was nice and creepy.
My best part was right when things get rolling, those were the best scares...the part where he sees the guy/his reflection in the building across the way was probably my favorite scene.
I kinda thought that the end started to drag...what with the metaphysical journey into his own soul and whatnot.
But, in the end, it was better than I thought it would be, and certainly much better than the onslaught of 'same'ol'shit' splatter flicks that have been coming out lately.
I really want to see 30 Days of Night though!

I cannot believe we watched the same movie on the same day! That must mean we are twins separated at birth! OMG!

Yeah, that part where he sees his reflection in the window and then saw that creepy dude behind him, that was really scary!

I adored that movie. John Cusack should stay alive for being in that.

John Cusack should stay alive and star in a remake of Staying Alive.

I loved that movie! The choice of the Carpenters song couldn't have been more awesome. That movie gave me the horror movie giggles, which I haven't gotten for a long time.
