Pointless Central Line Fact

I found this on facebook (the fount of all pointless knowledge) and it and it appears to be true!Between Holborn and Tottenham Court Road the train slows down a little and, if the light is right, and if you happen to have your face crushed up against the window by the armpit of a 20 stone, sweating business man, you can see some old tracks and bits ( Read more... )

tonight_we_fly is a huge underground history buff and has now led two tours of abandoned / disused stations filled with facts and other things about it all. I haven't gone on either 'cause I am dumb, but Katie went on the one he did last year and I think he's doing another one this year... (in the summer)

I did. It was fun. And now I know where there are disused platforms by Kings Cross - if only I could remember which side of the train to look out of and when. Really spooky!

I've got a book called Underground London to read which I'm hoping will shed more light on all this sort of stuff :D

that sort of stuff fascinates me. I was going to link you to another site I'd found a couple of months ago, that I read from front to back, but when I went to get the link, i find it's moved to the one you pointed to.

But yeah, fun stuff...
