I like your explanation of the boys coming up with the concept after smoking some things; it really is the most logical explanation.

After thinking about it for a day, I have to say that whoever came up with the future setting with all these mind-screw elements was a genius for the sheer fact that I barely noticed Carlos' verse. For all the faults (wtf was up with all the lens flares?! It was giving me such a headache) and implications of having Snoop Dog present in a band video aimed at tweens, it's a really great mind-screw, troperiffic MV. I hope someone picspams and/or metas the video.

As for those water-fountain pics, I can't wait for the next set of pics.
