You might ask, some time during the interview, if there is any chance to advance into the department you want -- or move laterally to it, you know? -- if that's what you really want.
Make it clear that you are willing to put the time in in order to transfer to the job you want, that you like the company -- do your research, know some figures, impress them with your knowledge of what they are, who they are, how they do business, who they do business with -- but that you feel you would better serve them in such-and-such position.
Knowledgeable, professional, calm (a wise man once told me 'the more stressed you are, the calmer you must become' and it's very true!), open-minded, confident and 'subtle'.
