Sometimes it pays to read the books first

So apparently last night was the Red Wedding on Game of Thrones.

And I have to say, it is really funny to watch all these You Tube videos of people's reactions.

books, tv, asoiaf

I must admit I'm surprised it took them so long to get there.

And that is one of the (numerous) events that made me (eventually) give up reading ASoFaI.

I actually worry that the show will catch up to GRRM's writing, at his glacial pace. :-(

Oh I love this series. I'm in it for the long haul. The last book left me a sobbing wreck, but I still love it. I wouldn't dream of giving this up.

Perhaps I know the real period on which he is basing his politics too well, or maybe its that I can't get invested in any of the characters.

Yet, at least two of GRRM's books are on my top twenty list (The Armageddon Rag and Fevre Dream.

Oh, see I fell in love with Jon Snow almost right away. Same with Tyrion. So I had two of my three favorites in place even before I was one-third of the way through the first book.

I haven't read anything else by GRRM. I really should give them a try.

I love the one with the one person going crazy and the other person just staring, with a little "Book Reader" sign over their head...

The one with the girl clutching the pillow and screaming was pretty good. That's actually a fairly accurate representation of how I watch TV, come to think of it. ;-)
