For all those looking to check things off the list. Python is reasonable, as is reindeer, elk, and even yak. But there are still lots of alternatives for those with more money than they know what to do with. Lion is even available from the first place, although it's expensive. If we are talking edibles, I have eaten reindeer, elk, caraboo, razorback hog, bear, wild rabbit & several kinds of snake. I swapped beef for most of the more exotics The bear, which I watched being cooked and was dared to eat by Alaska natives (mostly "white people" will not eat bear however it is served).
Reindeer, elk, caraboo taste like venison. Rabbit tastes gamy unless marinated & is very chewy (think game flavored jerky)unless pressure cooked.
Snake generally tastes like stringy fried meat... is not too bad chopped fine & put in stew.
More than you ever wanted to know...

Meh, elk? That's exotic?? My dad hunts that. In fact, I just had some homemade elk jerky at Thanksgiving!
