I stuck the lab pH meter into a beaker of Coke today--pH 2.56 was the reading. It's pretty well-calibrated, too, kept in buffer and all that. Don't drink that stuff, you guys.

Pepsi I dunno. What happens...studies seem to indicate no correlation between soft drink consumption and esophageal cancer, but I am a touch skeptical, mostly because it WOULD make biological sense for a correlation to exist. I mean, esophageal cancer is thought to be related to chronic acid reflux and exposure of the esophagus to stomach acid, so...why not soft drink acid? I found some of the communications here, but I can't find the original paper(s) yet. There's some stuff that's nitpickable in the studies as far as I can see. At any rate, I am not much happy about chugging strong acids, so yeah. But no I don't really
