Oh how startling and awful for you.
*hugs*
That would definitely freak me out, waking up to a stranger squatting in my home!

I think the hard part of fencing this off will be the post holes and the cement. Be warned chain link did not keep them away here, though we are on the second floor and as such are much less physically bothered by them, the sounds they make at all hours are quite something. A new form of 'wildlife', we have found watching them from above interesting.

Post on freecycle asking for fencing, you never know you might get some.
Here the neighbouring building has erected a solid wood fence with pokey top which helps an awful lot. Do they go through every day/night, only on weekends, or mostly near the end/beginning of months?

Bob is available to install things like fencing. If we can do anything to help, please let me know.

*shudder* How icky and nasty. Hope you have a good day anyway. *More hugs*

the fencing is more to make the shortcut less usefful . if it taakes much more effort to go through than the same distance along the street they don't use it . the blockaade worked well for that but was far from permanent . once the fence is in I can build my deck with a wood fence at the one end . I think theres actually an old post hole digger in my grandpas big shed . got lots of volunteers for help , thanks mamselle . should be all good . the guy didn't take anything and when he was in here was so gone that he was basically a lump of people . he got right pissy afterwards when he was out front and the paramedics were talking to him .

Glad to hear he didn't do any damage or take anything, and that you are alright.
Also glad something upset him, though I'm surprised at myself.
Here they just climbed over the chain link fence coming in from Bronson, now they come in from Cambridge.

there was a drastic drop in the amount of people/garbage/items of badness when I had even the barricade up , and that was somewhat climable (easier than a 6-7 foot fence) . it only saves em 20 meters . main thing is , its not such a good place to go do bad stuff if the escape route isn't clear . theres gotta be something 'round your place that makes it worthwhile climbing .

the door , we only keep it locked 1/2 the time when we're here . figured we'd hear anyone coming in . I did within a few min. any valuables you gotta go right past us to get at . from now on though its locked . next time might not be a passed out drunk .

I vote that you build a booby trap right in front of the spot where the hobos get in. That way they won't break into your house. Also, get a cattle prod, or some electric fence. And invest in better locks.

fence and locked ddoors should do deccent . main problem is , if we're building a trap , we still have to get a bike and motorcycle past/over it . I am however gonna get some barbed wire . and I got all sorts of bones and chicken feet and creepy lookin stuff to voodoo the place up a bit . OOOO , semi buried dead guy hand ala plastic bag zombie construction . it was good enough to fool the police with full light next to it . bums aren't anwhere near as (sober) clever :D

sounds good , and we could have a narrow bridge , just enough for a person walking a bike of sorts . drunks and crackheads aren't that well coordinated .

also I guess that solves the problem of hiding the bodies
good thinking lil miss . I like the cut of your jib
