I can only suggest picking up an older laptop from somewhere, I think Right Stop on Slater and O'Conner might still sell older machines. You dont need a hell of alot of processing power to run midi sequencing tasks. A P3 600 or 700 should be more than enough and you can probably get one for a few hundred smackers.
yeah , theres that or just get a 2nd hand ER-1 and some F/X to run the drums . mmmmmmmmmm 2 audio ins . I know the sounds were a bit weak but it sounded good with dist. and they go for about $100 on ebay :) . just thaought of that now , hmmmmmm . as long as I'm playing shows with foil conduit i'll swindle use of their band PC . you'd like it man , mike bult a flatscreen into the side of the tower for ease of setup :) . then I'd just run FM7 or something off fruity or ableton . I'd wanted to go 100% solid gear but I guess you can't really go cold turkey . laptop sounds nice but beyond my means for a while . 200Gb Hd coming my way w/tax return . woooo!
