OK, I just finished watching the fourth installment of my obsession with finding a good film adaptation of Jane Eyre and I think my search may have come to an end. I put Jane Eyre on hold at the library. Hopefully I'll be able to watch it next week!

Well, Jane Eyre is not actually Jane Austen, but I can help you there as well. There are 4 Austen adaptations that come with my highest recommendations:

Emma (1996 with Gwyneth Paltrow)
P&P (1995 with Colin Firth)
P&P (2005 with Keira Knightley)
S&S (1995 with Emma Thompson)
Persuasion (1995 with Amanda Root and Ciaran Hinds)

S&S is probably my absolute favorite of them, but it's hard to choose.

1995 was a great year for Austen adaptations!

It is the best! I'm afraid I might have difficulty (at least for a while) even bringing myself to watch another one.
