Why do bad things happen to good people?

I really don't know what's up with God this week but it's been a tough week. On Friday, the mother of one of my good friends had a cerebral aneurysm. She was flown to Dallas where she underwent endovascular coiling of a ruptured intercranial aneurysm using a platinum coil. From what I understand, it was a near thing. Though she's apparently on

Well, he started chemo this week and so far seems to be holding up well. I've got my fingers crossed and I'm saying prayers.
