was this not EXACTLY what we heard as we graduated high school? to quote Almost Famous: "when and where does this 'real world' occur?"

Holy shit you're right. And yet, people still forget. It's just so frustrating, man. I had one friend who's graduated start a statement with "When you get out in the real world..." and I stopped her right there and it was problematic. Whatever, anyway, yeah. Almost Famous, great movie.
