but haven't been reading as much either. Or rather, it's taking me longer to read each book. so there've only been about a dozen books since last i posted.
75 Book of Enchantments by Patricia C Wrede
fun, smart, great characters, neat original stories and great takes on familiar myths:)
76 Loki's Wolves (Blackwell Pages #1) By K L Armstrong
good start to the series. Occasionally suffers from grown-ups-trying-to-sound-like-cool-kids, and tends to take a very biased view of the myth(s) of Loki, but quite good other than that.
77 The Reason I Jump: The Inner Voice of a Thirteen-Year-Old Boy with Autism by Naoki Higashida
interesting insight into the life of one perosn on the autism spectrum. It was at times contradictory and juvenile, but then he is 13. It can also be repititious, but then the questions he answers (and presumably has been asked) are often so. I was uncomfortable with how he often spoke for all people with autism, esp as the book sometimes blatantly emphsized how each person's experience of autism is different (thus the contradictory-ness). I really liked his stories, though, and i'm glad to have some answers that may help me understand and interact with the people i know who have autism.
78 Korgi Book 3: A Hollow Beginning by Christian Slade
This was beautiful like the others, and has lots of teh cute, but be warned it gets terrifying very suddenly!
79 First Degree Fudge (A fudge Shop Mystery #1) By Christine DeSmet
not bad exactly, but nothing special. I figured out the culprit pretty quickly, and the characters were cute but not compelling.
80 A Queer and Pleasant Danger: The True Story of a Nice Jewish Boy Who Joins the Church of Scientology and Leaves Twelve Years Later to Become the Lovely Lady She is Today by Kate Bornstein
What a varied, adventurous, full life she's led. If she's to be believed;) Made me a bit squeamish at times, but it's her story to tell so I try not to judge. And i learned a lot,and gained some very interesting insight:)
81/21 Midnight Blue-Light Special (Incryptid #2) by Seanan Mcguire
funny and witty and scary and exciting. I found the change in POV a bit hard to adjust to, although it totally made sense to do it. the kick-ass fight scenes made me have a dream about beating up Angelina Jolie (she was a baddie), and then she popped up and kicked me in the face:P Great urban fantasy:)
82 Stones From the River By Ursula Hegi
intricate and complex and moving. I kept thinking the title was "Stories from the Rivver", as there are so many lives and threads woven through Trudi's life. I did find it a bit tricky to follow the timing sometimes, as some years went by mentioned in passing, and some took multiple chapters, but that's about my only complaint (other than that I thought this was going to have fantasy elements, but that's because of how it was recommended to me, not anything the book's at fault for:P).
83 The Song of the Quarkbeast (Last Dragonslayer #2) by Jasper Fforde
fun and clever, and heartwarming. Great characters, neat world building and fun twists.
84 Flying Lessons (Owly #3) by Andy Runton
cute, but a bit harder to follow than the previous ones.
85 Bookweird (Bookweird #1) by Paul Glennon
started out really strong, but kinda lost momentum about halfway through. Still enjoyable, though:)
some day i'll get back on track on my ratio of books-i-already-own to library books too:P
