while i'm at it

I may as welll get all caught up on my book posting:P

128 Swan Sister: Fairy Tales Retold Ellen Datlow & Terri Windling, eds
this was a lovely collection, with a couple that didn't do it for me, but overall i liked them all:) I liked the variety in it, too, from style to length of story to type of retelling to which fairy tales were retold:)

129 The Ice Dragon by George RR Martin
i thought i'd be safe with a kids' book by Martin, but it still made me squirm and cry:P Not too graphic or gory, but scary and sad.

130 I Am An Islander by Patrick Ledwell (for 14 books, 1 Island)
J and I literally LOL'd many times at this:) Smart and on-point, although occasionally sappy.Pokes fun at us, but nicely:P

131 The Grand Change by William Andrews (for 14 books, 1 Island)
meandering and repetitive. Occassional snippets or vignettes, but no real storyline.

132 Witches (Fables #14) by Bill Willingham et al
I really enjoyed this installment, although I found the side stories threw me off a bit, after being so engrossed in the main story. Can't wait til I get the next ones form the library!

133 Love is Murder Sandra Brown, ed
pretty enjoyable stories for the most part, but nothing felt stellar. And i was very unimpressed with the one who used a salker situation as a "romantic" suspence. Oh, and weirdly, there are 3 or 4 stories in a row with characters named Dawson; i get that some are part of series, and you can't just change the name, but why did they have to be together like that?

134 Kat, Incorrigible (Kat, Incorrigible #1) by Stephanie Burgis
i really liked this, and it was just what i was looking for (i'd been a bit "book restless" before picking this up). It was cute and fun, but also smart and full of heart. I esp like the nuances of the sisters' relationships:) I am very much looking forward to the next in the seies:)

135 Heirs and Graces (Her Royal Spyness Mysteries, #7) by Rhys Bowen
a fun, easy read, but it seems like it needed another go over editing-wise; it's rather repetitive, even in phrasing, and i'm quite sure at one point Julian turned into Justin for a few pages.:P

ta-da!:P
