After my previous post, fich asked me if I was striving to be the last person posting on LJ. Uh, not consciously I guess. Idunno. Mostly I post because I feel like it. But it did get me wondering.

This movie made a lot more sense once I realized that, despite its name, it is in fact a prequel to Infernal Affairs (it didn't help that I watched the first one 4 years ago, so I couldn't remember who the hell was who any more. I am slightly less than halfway through Seveneves, and it is mindblowingly awesome. I hesitate to refer to it as a mix of Anathem and Reamde lest that statement be taken too literally; just that it deals with some interesting philosophical/existential questions interspersed with plenty of "action sequences."
