This tutorial is rather overdue, I'm sorry, I got sidetracked for a bit after my last icon post with lots of other things :'D And I'm really sorry that some of you who requested tuts earlier haven't seen anything yet; that's because you made requests on posts older than my #004 and I have no idea where the .psd's went D: Can't find them for beans, ( Read more... )

I personally don't find the colored blocks useful, because I can just copy and paste the color codes in photoshop, but I guess it could be helpful for someone who can't do that or something.

I think the colored blocks are good in visually showing someone the effect of using a certain color in a layer, more than actual practical use. But someone could easily copy and paste the blocks into a program instead of the codes so sldkfsjd I guess it could go both ways. Sorry for the unhelpful comment. XD

Yeah, true :'D I originally made them because I had seen them in other tutorials, and also because I figured people might be lazy and just want to drag it over to their .psd, haha. I might just include the hex code from now on and then say what kind of colour it is, so you can pick a similar one yourself if you're lazy. Don't worry, it's plenty helpful, thank you! xD

Somehow, I failed to match this amazing affect. It must have been my base. I ended up with something a little too blue. So I tweaked around toward the end of the tutorial to get these results:

Yeah, you prolly have to start with a more dark, earth-toned base for this one, but I think yours are still gorgeous! *A*

Haha, thanks! I started it 'cause I'm lazy and I like to use them; though I might also end it for good because I'm too lazy to make them xD It's true, my PB has a lot of images!
