Lately it seems like I can't get away from Lupus. It's following me around. I don't mean having it, I mean that suddenly there seems to be a lot of people getting diagnosed with it (or trying to).

In the past month, two LJ friends have mentioned a family member or friend going through diagnosis. There is a woman at work who has all the symptoms ( Read more... )

Any chance of you talking to the woman who's currently being diagnosed?

Oh yeah, of oourse I have. I like her, she makes me laugh. She's rather like me, a bit casual about the whole thing. I keep telling her she needs to have blood tests in case it's something more serious than a virus like Ross River or Dengue, she also needs to check for RA and Lupus. I get frustrated when she shrugs but then I remember it took me 6 weeks of feeling hideous and not getting better before I even showed up at my GP, so I think I was worse. LOL! It's hard when you're that sick, you don't think clearly and you're in denial that it may be something you can't get rid of. Seeing her so sick makes me feel rather emotional and I want to help her but she's a grown woman and I can't tell her what to do, only make suggestions.

I know what you mean. I hate when people just shrug about things, when I'm like, !!!!

But if you came around, she will too, right? ;)
