Since I have been a bum I have finally had time to read. Reading is the thing that makes me happier than anything else.

I have been reading my newspaper regularly, which is bad because when I read the Guardian Review, I automatically pick out several books I need to read, right then and there, and I find it hard to restrain myself.

Part of the perk of my new job is being able to take out up to 35(!) books at once, and I'm going to pick up 'Soul Mountain' tomorrow. I'll let you know how I get on with it.

I didn't enjoy War and Peace as much as I felt I should have done, if that makes sense.
