I can't believe I've waited so long to read Fermat's Last Theorem. It's actually fairly light reading (very? I've got a hideous head cold and can still understand it). I kind of wish it had slightly more maths in it, but it's fun nonetheless

I concur with it being sheer bad luck. I'm glad you found someone honest and helpful at the Jobcentre, though. Because at the end of the day, there is a lot of luck involved in job hunting and why can't luck be on your side for the next one?
