Movies to Watch '09 Part I: January-June

I'm bored and I figured I would share with you the movies I'm most looking forward to this year! This isn't all of them, I'm sure but it's definitely a lot of them!

JANUARY



OUTLANDER

Tagline:
It destroyed his world. He won't let it destroy ours.
Plot:
During the reign of the Vikings, Kainan (Caviezel), a man from a far-off world, crash lands on Earth, bringing with him an alien predator known as the Moorwen. Though both man and monster are seeking revenge for violence committed against them, Kainan leads the alliance to kill the Moorwen by fusing his advanced technology with the Viking's Iron Age weaponry.

Plot:
Anna Rydell returns home to her sister (and best friend) Alex after a stint in a mental hospital, though her recovery is jeopardized thanks to her cruel stepmother, aloof father, and the presence of a ghost in their home.

FEBRUARY



FRIDAY THE 13th

Tagline:
Welcome to Crystal Lake
Plot:
A group of young adults discover a boarded up Camp Crystal Lake, where they soon encounter Jason Voorhees (Mears) and his deadly intentions.



CORALINE

Tagline:
Be careful what you wish for.
Plot:
A young girl (Fanning) walks through a secret door in her new home and discovers an alternate version of her life...



PUSH
Plot:
The action packed sci-fi thriller involves a group of young American ex-pats with telekinetic and clairvoyant abilities...

MARCH



WATCHMEN

Tagline:
Justice is coming to all of us. No matter what we do.
Plot:
When an ex-superhero is murdered, a vigilante named Rorshach begins an investigation into the murder, which begins to lead to a much more terrifying conclusion.



RACE TO WITCH MOUNTAIN
Plot:
A UFO expert enlists the help of a cabbie to protect two siblings with paranormal powers from the clutches of an organization that wants to use the kids for their nefarious plans.



KNOWING

Tagline:
Knowing is Everything...
Plot:
A teacher (Cage) opens a time capsule that has been dug up at his son's elementary school; in it are some chilling predictions -- some that have already occurred and others that are about to -- that lead him to believe his family plays a role in the events that are about to unfold.



MONSTERS vs. ALIENS

Tagline:
Oooze gonna save us?
Plot:
When a meteorite from outer space hits a young girl and turns her into a giant monster, she is taken to a secret government compound where she meets a ragtag group of monsters also rounded up over the years.

APRIL



SUNSHINE CLEANING

Tagline:
Life's a messy business.
Plot:
In order to raise the tuition to send her young son to private school, a mom starts an unusual business -- a biohazard removal/crime scene clean-up service -- with her unreliable sister.



THE SOLOIST

Tagline:
Life has a mind of its own
Plot:
A Los Angeles Journalist, befriends a homeless Julliard trained musician, while looking for a new article for the paper.

MAY



X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE
Plot:
Wolverine lives a mutant life, seeks revenge against Victor Creed (who will later become Sabertooth) for the death of his girlfriend, and ultimately ends up going through the mutant Weapon X program.



STAR TREK
Plot:
A chronicle of the early days of James T. Kirk and his fellow USS Enterprise crew members.



ANGELS & DEMONS

Tagline:
The holiest event of our time. Perfect for their return.
Plot:
Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon works to solve a murder and prevent a terrorist act against the Vatican.



TERMINATOR SALVATION
Plot:
After Skynet has destroyed much of humanity in a nuclear holocaust, a group of survivors led by John Connor (Bale) struggles to keep the machines from finishing the job.

JUNE



LAND OF THE LOST

Tagline:
Right place. Wrong time.
Plot:
Three adults inadvertently stumble into a mysterious land populated by dinosaurs and other creatures, including the mysterious and dangerous race of Sleestak.



THE HAUNTING IN CONNECTICUT
Plot:
After a family is forced to relocate for their son's health, they begin experiencing supernatural behavior in their new home, which turns out to be a former mortuary.">

I'm also looking forward to seeing I Love You, Man, The Year One, and Drag Me To Hell but there aren't posters out for those yet and I'm a sucker for order! It wouldn't have looked right. :p
