flash cards

I am currently trying to keep a lid on the 'shopping volcano' otherwise known as 'supermarket rage' or 'i can't find anything in my fucking size'. I even have a flash card for this purpose, which was my therapist's idea. I will eventually have flash cards for different situations although i'm not sure how this is going to work. Picture me in M& ( Read more... )

I am very curious. What do the flashcards say?

Sorry about the delay, i did mean to answer this. The shopping volcano isn't a proper flash card. I mean, it's on a card, but it's just a list of suggestions. Usually the cards say something like,

I am feeling....
This is because ....
However ....
Therefore....

Yes, not only do they scale the size 10 clothes up to fit a size 18-20, but they also assume that everyone is a flipping pear shape, which is incredibly annoying given that i also am a very weird shape and have no idea what i'm supposed to do with all that extra fabric cascading off my hips.

Online shopping for M&S - it's amazingly good. Primark bras are awful - I did find some in their range for big boobs but they were padded! WTF? I'm an F cup, I don't need fake, I have enough of my own, thank you. And then they were of scratchy stuff - I'm glad I didn't think 'oh well, they're cheap and they'll do' as escaping boobs would have been ugly...

Yes, M&S bras are good. I did get some from there in the end but it set me back a few quid and i wasn't too happy about it. But they do fit well.

I got a couple of Panache brand from Debenhams in the sale in the end. Customer service left a lot to be desired, but bras reduced from £28 to £7 is a winner in my book!

LOL brilliant. I have 4 primark bras at the mo. 2 I have stiched the cups together to prevent oustage and the other 2 must not be worn when doing anything energetic e.g. bending over.

I had been dribbling over a lovely top in Jane norman for ages and finally went to try it on, the top size of what i am prepared to buy was far too small so i had a mini fuglyday tantrum in the changing room. The assistant helpfully told me that their sizes were small and that i should try 2 sizes up. I pointed out that i would far rather but something properly sized and would she really buy anything there if that was the case and she had no staff discount? err no she said. I was quite proud i managed to keep my tantrum in my own head and be polite to skinny bimbo.

Did you really sew the cups together? And it worked?
I know what you mean about shops like Jane Norman and their ridiculous sizing.

I quite like H&M but i have to take an XL in their stuff. I don't look remotely like an XL in the flesh. If pushed, i'll concede that i'm probably a small-ish 'L' if we're being realistic.

yup. It certainly did work, not the best fir in the world but i'm buggered if i'm chucking out perfectly nice bras just cos they look a bit odd!.

I like H&M too, its one of benj's favourite shops so when we go there i'm usually "on tow"
