on friday matt & i had our little anniversary celebration that involved a wonderful dinner and an alright movie (apocalypto). an old friend of matt's worked there and we got creme brulee (sp?) for dessert. i ate far, far too much

oh man, i am so happy that i'm not living at home. angst is never good to return to, but when living at home, it all comes back full force.

congrats on the bowling score, and oh my god, apocalypto is so ridiculous. that scene with the fucking water birth was laughable and oh yay for the spanish, the good, clean, civilized spanish who save the day in the end. the movie was entertaining, but i just left it feeling dirty. they fucking died of smallpox right after they escaped all that shit. anyway, that's my rant.

my neighbor is having a serious r&b karaoke jam right now, and it's pretty funny but loud like none other. all i can hear is bass thumping and off-key lyrics "it's funny you should call me babe" and every now and then a really shrill "eeee"

i'm off to battle his noise with guitar hero II noise.

in light of my apocalypto comments, i found it amusing when someone put a diatribe in our history grad newsletter this morning about the misrepresentation of mayan culture and colonial conquest. anyway, i feel like i just reaffirmed by geekiness by pre-empting this attack.
