Room 330: Monday Afternoon

Jul 02, 2012 12:56

Jack's summer at home in Eureka had been fairly un-eventful. By Eureka's standards it meant there was only two occasions where the world was about to end and Cafe Diem only got wrecked once. Unfortunately there was one final bit of strangeness that happened where the molecular density of certain objects was effected due to a slight change in the ( Read more... )

Genesis was smiling as he returned to his room after Poetry class with Mr... Romeo. With Mr. Romeo. He hadn't really known what to make of it at first, but someone had told him that his poem was really good, and he was going to be riding that high for the rest of the day. Heck, he was actually humming a little as he walked down the hallway, barely noticing that his door was already open until he had a foot inside the room.

...

"Oh... Uh... Hi!"

So he really was rooming with another person, and not just that other person's stuff!

Jack turned to look at the kid coming to the room and did his best not to stare at the... lips. They were different. Really different. So much so there was a brief moment of awkward staring before Jack could actually respond.

"Hi!" Jack said a bit too enthusiastically because, yes, he realized he was staring. "Jack Carter. I'm guessing..."

There was a brief pause as he gestured in a somewhat awkward manner at the room and Evan in general.

"Roommate? Right?"

Sorry, Jack. If you were hoping for normal, you were looking at the wrong little oblivious clone of the Apocalypse.

"Evan," he answered, sounding just a touch too chipper, himself. Staring. Everyone really liked staring around here. "And... yeah. I guess I am your new roommate."

He was also standing in the door and trying not to fidget.

You would think that after living in Fandom for almost a year and having almost four years of memories of Eureka, Jack would have a grip on weirdness. He didn't.

Then again he's clone of a sheriff who has those issues and not a mutant. Don't worry, Evan. He'll get over it soon.

"Right!" Jack said with mirroring chipperness. "Evan! Well, welcome to Fandom. Unless you've already been here for the first part of summer then... Hi. I'm your roommate, Jack. I... I tend to ramble."
